There are many different avenues that lead to administration, however mine was a little different. I first stepped into administration in 2008 when I was asked to take on the Special Education Director's position while teaching half time. That was a difficult choice but I like to be challenged, so I accepted. The following year I was asked to take on a full class load to help the school because they couldn't find/afford to hire another teacher. I was offered a good stipend to continue as the SPED Director. Unfortunately, I didn't get it in writing and the stipend that was offered was changed when it came time to pay. Needless to say, I was unhappy but I am not the type to break a contract (verbal or written). After 4 years of broken promises I decided that this was not where I needed to be and tendered my resignation.
